Meeting called to order at 7 pm by Armando Dos Santos

Financial Report: Barrie moved to postpone financial report, Erik second carried
Fall 2018 Production Report: Kathleen still getting figures together, but it looks as though “The Green Room” made a profit. Eleanor discussed her ad survey results and ad expenses. YPDG will utilize the no cost ad venues, such as Harbour City Living, What’s On, and social media. Word of mouth filled lots of seats at the shows. There was an added expense for printing as Ladysmith Arts Council could not print from the format the in which the program was prepared.
Playwright Competition: Armando is working with Ladysmith Arts Council as co-sponsor. Brian is preparing the application form. 2 people will read the submissions. The deadline for submission will be August 1, 2019 and the winning play will be staged in the fall of 2020. Fran Gephart and Keith Digby will judge. The winner will receive $2,000.00 which will include royalties. At production time there will be a silent auction and the proceeds will be split with LSAC. The competition will be open to BC residents. Information will be posted on YPDG website and sent to guilds and universities.
Murder Mystery Fund Raiser: “Murder is no Jive” by Brian March will be performed at Cedar Hall for the dinner fund raiser on February 9, 2019. Promotion for the event will start in January.
Spring 2019 Production: The rights for “Outside Mullingar” are acquired for the April shows. Armando will direct and he has identified 2 cast members (out of 4).
One Act Festival in Qualicum: Brian entered the one act play “Mixed Emotions” which is a scene from a full length play by Max Baer. The festival took place in early November. Gordon McInnis received the best actor award for the festival.
Lighting Board: YPDG will apply for a grant with the RDN for a new lighting board. Erik Tully will gather costs for the application. New stage curtains and a track are also needed.
