THE NIGHTHAWKS. YPDG Fall 2022 production.

After a two year Hiatus, The Yellow Point Drama Group (YPDG) and the Ladysmith Arts Council are pleased to present the winner of their original playwriting competition from 2019.

A dark comedy about grave robbing and family dynamics.


Rehearsals will begin in late JULY/22 and the play will hit the stage in OCTOBER/22.

Auditions for the following role (see below) will be held at the CEDAR HALL, 2388 Cedar Road Nanaimo, BC V9X 1K3,  green room  on the following dates and times.

  • SATURDAY May 14/22 from 1pm to 4pm.
  • MONDAY May 16/22 from 7pm to 9m.

  • VICK DAVIES, late 50′ to early 60’s.  Chronically unemployed and in ill health with difficult to diagnose conditions. Karaoke nut. Daddy’s girl. Wants to believe that everything she’s doing is to help her father.
  • SUZANNE. 40’s 50’s. Vicki’s friend. Also unemployed and in a state of ill health. Impulsive and overly chatty. Orphan. Saw Joe as her adopted father.
  • ROGER DAVIES, mid 60’s. Vicki’s older brother. Lawyer living in Toronto who likes life to stick to the rules. Divorced. Always second in father’s affections. Mamma’s boy.
  • JOE DAVIES, 70’s, 80’s. Vicki’s (deceased) father. Sometimes a ghost. Well intentioned by definitely favours his daugher, who he sees as needing his help. He tends to grow angry with things he doesn’t understand.
